‘Down the memory lane’ 🎞⌛️

A portrait of my great-grandmother as I last remember her from my early childhood. It is a part of an art series exploring the identity of oneself and how it is impacted by the living and inanimate.

Words in the background are associations, little connections which our brain holds onto, to keep important memories alive in our imagination. Here, a Ukrainian poem was chosen - ‘Zapovit’ by Taras Shevchenko, which was his final testament to his beloved Ukraine.

Sometimes, people who we might not even remember can shape our characters from the day one. This series of reinterpretation of identity explores how humans are influenced by their closest connections - their families
